The most anticipated event of the year is just around the corner. A full week dedicated to the latest and greatest in global design, packed with launches, immersive experiences, and cutting-edge innovation. It’s an intense, curiosity-sparking schedule that draws the world’s eyes to the best in contemporary design from Italy and beyond, connecting the dots across the entire creative and production ecosystem. 

For one week, Milan becomes the City of Light—literally. That’s because this 63rd edition of Il Salone puts the spotlight on Euroluce, the biennial exhibition devoted to lighting design. From April 8 to 13, the Fiera Milano Rho will be transformed into a vibrant stage of new launches, installations, and creative exchanges, showcasing design in its most dynamic form. Light takes center stage this year, alongside furniture design, which remains a pillar of the event. 

As the organizers emphasize, “Light is increasingly at the center of our world, and its design has become essential in creating more sustainable and comfortable spaces—ones that respond to both environmental and human needs.” 
Maria Porro, president of Salone del Mobile Milano, adds, “We have always thought of the Salone as a fundamental tool for offering opportunities for growth and development to our industry—creating intercultural dialogues, bringing disciplines closer together, and illuminating Milan.” 

From cultural events to bold, collaborative visions, this is a week where innovation meets humanity, where light, material, and design take center stage. 

The entire city becomes a creative playground, offering a spectacular, lived experience of design. Wandering through the streets of at least five bustling design districts means fully immersing yourself in the Fuorisalone, which this year explores the theme “Mondi Connessi” (Connected Worlds). 

We see this moment as a true design lab, a space for experimentation, discovery, and reflection. It’s where established brands meet rising talent, and where experimental ideas take shape. It’s a melting pot of insights, new perspectives, and opportunities to rethink the meaning of design—its processes, its impact, and its power to connect the many layers of our lives. 

Interactive and immersive experiences are part of the journey, inviting visitors to explore new materials, shapes, colors, aesthetics, processes, and products, each one capable of transforming how we live, work, and relate to the world around us.
