We celebrate trends and uncover the fascination they spark in how we see and feel — because, at the end of the day, color is emotion. It reflects the times, behaviors, and meanings that unfold in layers and take on the expression of the now.

The 2025 Milano Design Week was no exception, becoming a vibrant stage for color through diverse materials and finishes. Matter and color complete and amplify one another, merging into a sum of languages, creative force, and visual communication.

Among the many paths explored, some brands stood out with experiences full of sensory meaning, where emotion and reflection created bridges between the human and the technological — expanding the possibilities of color. Revisiting time, emotions, and digital experience, but above all, honoring the individuality of those who create and those who choose fashion, furniture, environments, and ornaments. Everything is deeply interconnected.

Now more than ever, it’s essential to understand the desire for personalization and embrace the colors that resonate with the moments we’re living in.

The flagship Poltrona Frau store introduced color through walls, furniture, and decorative elements, highlighting the chromatic strength of each season — which, in truth, became five.

The Five Seasons was a standout. Redefining tradition and inviting the imagination to transcend established rules, it was a call to experiment — a journey through color, form, and the emotions of: Spring, evoking spaces open to light and nature. Summer, drawing us outdoors — balconies, terraces, and gardens integrated into the home. Autumn, inspiring warm and refined interiors through materials like leather, wood, and soft fabrics. Winter, embracing the desire for warmth and comfort, turning the home into a cozy refuge with neutral tones.

And now you may be asking: What about the fifth season? Ah — that one is personal and intimate, where each of us reconnects with our inner strength. “A space between time and trend, where individuality blooms and design becomes timeless. We create for each of the four seasons — but also, for yours.”

We began with the softer seasons and moved into the color energy of the objects presented by Hermès, with shades diffused through the environment via light. A spectacle of yellows, reds, pinks, browns, blues, and greens danced across glass, textiles, and surfaces. Brushstroke-like patterns and beautiful stripes emerged in elegant compositions. Tones that stir the eye and the imagination — a palette both refined and sophisticated. Earthy shades from the previous year remained strong, now joined by more intense and expanded chromatic expressions.

A tribute to futurist Fortunato Depero, presented by Louis Vuitton, brought color in motion to the forefront. This visionary chromatic dynamism from the 1920s artist captured the intensity of cities in transformation. From his archive came a collection that once again stirs the imagination and provokes the contemporary gaze. Natural palettes continue their path, while the power of black, white, and off-white reaffirms itself — in a minimalism that is both present and potent.

From soft, delicate tones to bold blues, vibrant greens, fiery reds, and even hints of purple stepping onto the scene — we are immersed in a multitude of color journeys. Through spaces and objects that reflect our time, emotions, feelings, values, and intentions.
